My Experience with Meditation

If someone were to ask me to about meditation a few years ago, I would not know what to say.

I would love to be one of those people who can meditate for long hours and radiate a sense of inner peace and calm.

But I’m not.

I find it difficult to sit in the same lotus pose for a long time. My back hurts and my legs start to go numb.

It was really when I started to conduct Hado counseling sessions for people, learned and practiced Magnified Healing daily, and learned about Shamanic journeys, that meditation starts to make sense to me.

All of my understanding of meditation comes from experience. What works for me and what doesn’t.  What makes sense to me and what not.

So, I am definitely not an expert in meditation.

I just want to share what meditation is all about and break it down to you the way I understand it, and how easy it is to incorporate meditation into our daily life.

The main message here is that meditation can be simple yet powerful, and there is always a type of meditation right for you.

What is Meditation (to me)?

I used to think that meditation is just sitting in a lotus pose, being quiet, not thinking of anything (how is that even possible), and focus on your breathing. Then somehow, during this silence, I would feel inner peace and relaxed.

Well, whenever I close my eyes, billions of thoughts come up in my mind –things I should do, things I want to do, things I wish I don’t have to do but I have to, and the fact that I should not be thinking of anything and just quiet my mind and refocus back to my breathing.

And often, three minutes would pass that would seem like an eternity, and the meditation session was not even finished yet. Someone, help me!

Throughout the years of attending and occasionally falling asleep in meditation sessions, I’ve begun to realize that visualization type of meditations work best for me. The fact that my mind could focus on creating imageries instead of thinking of nothing helps me to concentrate on the meditation itself.

Then I’ve learned that there are many types of meditation out there. Sitting quietly and focusing on your breathing is just one type, it may or may not work for you. There are meditations with visualizations, walking meditations, dancing meditations, writing meditations, Shamanic journeys where you visualize your soul traveling and receiving guidance, and so on.

When we are very focused in doing one certain task and pay attention fully to every detail, I would say that is also meditation. It is when we are completely focused on one task so our mind is not cluttered with billions of thoughts. It may be cooking, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, playing sports or music, or anything else that brings joy to you.

Meditation does not need to happen only in a quiet environment. The quiet and the peace come from within.

Meditation can be easy and simple.

Today I’d like to share with you this visualization meditation that I use in my “Heal Your Water Within” class. where we learn how to heal our water within based on the research from “The Message from Water” by Dr. Masaru Emoto.

I invite you to close your eyes, and enjoy this guided meditation and note how you feel afterwards. Feel free to download the file and keep it on your phone whenever you feel like this meditation.
