			<p>In today’s blog I want to share with a free japa meditation video I created back in June 2021 to recite the mantra of Ganesha, the lord of removing obstacles for 108 times.</p>
<p>This practice is called <em>japa</em>, a Sanskrit word refers to repetition of reciting a mantra. Japa meditation is part of the Bhakti yoga practice to help us tune into the divine qualities of each deity. The mantra also serves as an anchor for the mind. As we repeat the same mantra over and over again, our mind starts to relax and it becomes easier to connect with the inner stillness and calm within.</p>

<li>A story of Ganesha that demonstrates his wisdom</li>

<li>Practice <em>japa</em> meditation together for 108 times (total 11 minutes)</li>

			<p><strong><span class="eos-font-subtitles">How can this Mantra help?</span> </strong></p>
<p>In this japa practice, we will be chanting Ganesha’s mantra “<em>Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha</em>” for 108 times.</p>
<p>By chanting this mantra, we are invoking Ganesha’s energies and divine qualities in our lives. Ganesha is the lord of removing obstacles and lord of wisdom.</p>
<p>This mantra can help you to:</p>
<ul class="eos-ul">
<li>Feel more grounded</li>
<li>Become aware of obstacles in your life, for example are the obstacles showing you to take a different path?</li>
<li>Connect with your wisdom within to rise above the obstacle</li>
<li>Stay open to receive help and support from the Universe</li>
<li>Go through any transitions, changes or difficult periods of your life</li>
</ul>

			<p><strong><span class="eos-font-subtitles">What does this Mantra mean?</span></strong></p>
<p><span class="bold">Mantra: <em>Om Gam Ganapataye Nahama</em></span></p>
<p><em>Om</em> = the divine in the form of a sound / the divine sound of creation</p>
<p><em>Gam</em> = seed sound (bija) of Ganesha</p>
<p><em>Ganapataye</em> = another name of Ganesha (head of Shiva’s army)</p>
<p><em>Namaha</em> = I offer my salutations /  bow to</p>
<p>Meaning: “I offer my salutations / bow to Lord Ganesha, who is the remover of obstacles”</p>

For this exercise you would need a stick that is about your own height. A mop or broom stick, shower or curtain rod would do too! This is a great exercise to improve your strength and flexibility.</p>
