Chiang Rai, Thailand, August 2019 – Museflower Retreat & Spa Chiang Rai reinforced its role as an up-and-coming leader in the Thai wellness industry at a tourism workshop in Khao Yai, where Museflower owner Tania Ho recently led a workshop to develop Wellness Tourism in Khao Yai.
Organized by the Suranaree University of Technology, the workshop, called “Service Design for Co Creating Sustainable Wellness Tourism in Khao Yai Area”, the workshop was held at the Escape Khao Yai Hotel and was attended by local entrepreneurs and business owners, senior managers in hospitality / tourism industry. Khao Yai is an area known for its national park, golf resorts, and beautiful unspoilt natural environment, and is currently not developed as a wellness destination.
The workshop aimed to explore the development of wellness tourism in the area, with Museflower Retreat & Spa’s role as a speaker, sharing good practices in holistic wellness and spa tourism. Two other speakers were experts in service and experience design.
Museflower owner Tania Ho was invited to speak at this workshop by Suranaree University of Technology after their research team stayed at Museflower Retreat & Spa in Chiang Rai, and interviewed Tania about the Museflower retreat concept. Tania Ho spoke about her inspiration and mission in creating Museflower Retreat, its value to customers and what needs their guests have, wellness tourism in Thailand, and about her own professional experiences in global wellness tourism, having worked for various international luxury hotels and spas around Southeast Asia.
The workshop organizer, Arjan Ruchdaporn Wisutthakorn, of the School of Management Technology of Suranaree University of Technology said Tania’s session “was very stimulating and interesting. We were very appreciative and impressed by her informative sharing, enthusiasm and passion. The participants gave me feedback that they gained a broader knowledge about wellness tourism and Tania’s story also encouraged them to initiate some wellness retreat activities at their enterprises.”
Another result from the workshop was that the participants created a new network called Khao Yai Wellness Tourism Group in Line.
For Museflower Retreat & Spa, being a speaker at this workshop was another step in its commitment to driving the wellness industry forward in Thailand. Says Tania Ho, “This workshop was a good networking event, and a starting point where the local entrepreneurs in Khao Yai can get together and start a network to keep in touch and to share ideas to develop wellness tourism in their area.”
